Sherbert the Stuffed Fish Swims Away!
Hello, this is Laurie from the Stuffed Zoo. You know, I’m the one who usually does the actual packing of stuffed animals to send out to loving homes. I love these animals, and none of my friends can believe how lucky I am to be working here. Some of the friends I’ve made among the animals are Geo the Stretch Gorilla and Kilgore the Stuffed Giraffe, mainly because they make good puns. One of Kilgore’s brightest:”It’s a commonly known fact that irradiated cats have 18 half-lives.”
Even though I usually have fun at my job, today I’m in a heap of trouble because just this afternoon, I let one of our stuffed animals, Sherbert the Stuffed Fish, slip through my fingers while I was walking to the Post Office!
I was strolling next to a canal on 3rd street, carrying a few boxes overflowing with stuffed animals, when Sherbert accidentally bounced out. I tried to free one of my hands to grab for him, but he kerplunked into the canal and, frightened, swam away. Poor Sherbert doesn’t even have a cell phone, so he can’t call to be picked up.
I asked V and Finn what I should do, and V told me that he’d organize a search party in the morning. I don’t know If i’m going to be able to sleep tonight. I hope poor Sherbert is okay.
