Owl Eats Harry Potter - V:Mission 2 Episode 10

Posted May 19th, 2008 by V

Walking up to the house you can already guess it’s deserted.  Knocking repeatedly on the door doesn’t seem to change the situation.  Dinu steps back into the small yard surrounded by a fence to figure out what to do next.  Then he says.  “We’ll wait.  It is morning anyway.  The owl will be easier to find just before sunset.

How about going for a little walk?  I love this part of Romania.”

“Sure.”  I say.  The lush delta greenery is quite beautiful and it sounds like we have plenty of time.  Going for a walk beats sitting hear and listening to my watch tick.

I shove my arms through the straps on the duffle bag and wear it backpack style.  “Let’s go.”

Dinu takes off at a brisk pace and heads into the thick foliage.  He acts like he knows where he’s going.  I follow.  After about 20 minutes we end up on a muddy bank of the Danube.  Water opens in every direction crisscrossing the landscape.  The air still carries the last hints of early morning coolness as the sun climbs toward its peak.

We both stare at the water for a long time.  Then I remember the Harry Potter book.  I set down my duffle bag and pull out the book and start to read.  It doesn’t take long before the heat mixes exquisitely with the jet-lag to produce an overwhelming need for sleep.  I rest the book on the ground next to me and almost instantly I’m asleep.

Evidently the physical punishment Dinu experienced also combined nicely with the heat and he falls asleep not far way.

For the 2 of us time seemed to stop…until a piercing screech rips us from our slumbers!
