Owl Eats Harry Potter - V:Mission 2 Episode 9

Posted May 17th, 2008 by V

A very modern bus and very empty bus pulls up about 10 minutes after we get to the stop.  The sleepy bus driver opens the door.  We get on and Dinu pays our fare and we move to the middle seats on the bus and sit down.

We’re still in the center of the town.  At this time of day the bus is heading out to the edge of town to bring workers and shoppers in for the day.  About every 8 blocks the bus does a compulsory stop and is quickly on its way.

Sirens start blaring in the background.  Dinu and I exchange knowing glances, expecting that the airport scene has livened up a little more by now.

The bus stops and miles keep putting distance between us and the airport.  A few people get on the bus.  They all find seats and ride in sleepy silence.  By the time we get to the end of the line we’re the last ones on the bus again.  As we get off a stream of new passengers is queued up to get on the bus for the trip to town.  Several of them give us unusual stares.

Dinu doesn’t seem to notice and we head off down a small lane.  Once we’re away from other people Dinu asks, “Why do you want to go to the old barn?”

I respond, “I know this is going to sound silly but I need to stuffocate a European Barn Owl.  Finn says the perfect one lives in an old barn on the Danube delta and that you know where it is.”

Dinu is laughing again.  “Of course I know where it is.  Finn is so funny.  He fell in love with Horatiu 3 years ago.  Said he loved the frame around his white face.  He talked about how the face seemed to speak of purity, and wisdom at the same time.  Finn seems to notice amazing details.

The barn is such a pretty spot.  Too bad we don’t have more time.  It’s located on the Danube Delta.  The plants and birds in the area are beautiful…it’s so peaceful.”  he says, half in daydream by the time he reaches the end of his thought.

He picks up his pace.  Now that he knows what we’re doing his jovial nature partners up with a new expression of determination.  “We’re getting close.” He says.
