Owl Eats Harry Potter - V:Mission 2 Episode 5

Posted May 10th, 2008 by V

I’m beginning to hate airports.  On my first mission I impressed Karl by literally falling off the plane.  Now I’m looking at a heap on the floor and I’m trying to figure out whether I hope it is my contact or not.

Absentmindedly I reach for my duffle bag on the floor to pull it closer.  The minute I touch the bag I hear a ringing that sounds like an old fashion telephone.  “What the heck is that?” I think as my frustration level mounts.

I unzip my bag and there is a flashing panel on the stuffocator that says “Push to talk.”

I push on the panel and Zoe pops into view with her smiling cheerful voice. “What’s wrong V?  The control widget on my computer screen shows an orange alarm for you.  How can I help?” she asks.

V breathes a sigh of relief and says, “I guess I just found out about one of Finn’s new upgrades.  The timing couldn’t be better.  Listen Zoe, it’s 1AM here.  I just got through customs but my contact wasn’t there to meet me.  The local authorities tell me that my contact is this person that is unconscious on the floor.  Could you see if Finn has a picture or some way for me to positively identify who my contact is?  At this hour no one here seems very proficient at English and my Romanian is…well, very limited.”

“I’m on it!” Zoe says, the pleasantness of her voice calming V.

“Listen, you better not call me.  When you do it sounds like Big Ben is going off on this end.  I don’t like bringing unnecessary attention to the stuffocator.  You might also ask Finn if he has a way to tone down the ring a little.  I’ll call you when I can talk discreetly…and, Zoe, thanks!  You’re a lifesaver.”

“You bet.” says Zoe.  “I can turn on a small blue indicator light on the stuffocator to let you know when I’ve got the info.  Be careful.” she says as she hangs up.

I quickly zip the duffle bag closed and try to figure out the best course of action.

As I sit there thinking the lump on the floor moans and curls tight.  Then it turns over and the face is finally visible.
