Aquisitioner’s Entry 9: How The StuffedZoo Gets Its Stuffed Animals

Posted March 27th, 2008 by V

It just didn’t make sense.  How could I be here in Africa, stuffocate a critter, and have the stuffed animal version end up back at the StuffedZoo?  My mind was having a hard time digesting the concept.

Karl says to Bahari, “I’d like the fresh pineapple for dessert.”  Then turning to me she asks, “What about you V?  Seems like you should have something to celebrate?”

“I’ll try the pineapple too.” I say, not really thinking about dessert.

“How many stuffed animals end up at the StuffedZoo when I stuffocate an animal?” I ask even more confused than before.

“The stuffocator seems to know the right number.  I’m not sure if Finn programs it in or if it is just something the stuffocator figures out on the fly.  Somehow we always seem to end up with the perfect number.  Oh sure, we sell out of items.  But that’s by design.  It makes room for the new stuffed animal buddies we collect.

Some stuffed animals are big sellers.  Others just sell a few; but, Finn says that’s the way it’s supposed to be.  The idea is to have the perfect stuffed animal to match the needs of every kid.  To do that you have to be willing to carry some very unique stuffed animals.” Karl says.

The pineapple comes with a sweetened, condensed coconut milk drizzled in intricate patterns over the top.  Each bite of pineapple gushes rich juice that mixes with the coconut milk creating a sophisticated and exotic combination of flavors.  Once again my taste buds awaken with startlingly powerful sensations.

Karl says, “We should get to bed early tonight.  Tomorrow we need to be up before dawn in order to be ready for the Slider snake.”
