Now we start to head into very subjective territory. Personally, “Squeezability” is very high on my list.
-
Floppy: Some stuffed animals are designed to be floppy. They tend to be very soft but don’t expect them to hold a pose very well. Floppies tend to stay in the shape they are set down in. Some of the floppies double as both a stuffed animal and a pillow.
-
Squishy: Squishy stuffed animals are typically plump and are very fun to hug because they squish so well that you feel like they are trying to hug you back. They usually maintain their shape by springing back into their original form.
-
Cuddly: Cuddly stuffed animals are slightly firmer than Squishy stuffed animals. They still have plenty of squish to make them fun cuddlers but have a little more substance that can make them great play buddies on grand adventures.
-
Firm: Typically the more realistic the animal becomes the firmer they need to be to maintain a natural pose. These usually don’t make the best sleeping buddies but their realistic look can add a lot to adventure play. These are also frequently the type of stuffed animal that become great collector’s items and room decorations.
This is the stuff that stuffed animals are made of! It plays another important role in the "Stuffed Animal Acceptance Factor"
